How to get to Torres del Paine
There are several ways to get to Torres del Paine National Park, whether you prefer to travel by land and see the amazing landscape that Patagonia offers, or by plane.
For a more direct trip, you can take a plane from Santiago de Chile (Arturo Merino Benitez Airport) to Punta Arenas, the most southern commercial airport in the country. You can visit other attractions or travel the 366 km directly to Torres del Paine.
If you come by bus, you can take a bus from the airport in Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales, located 112 km from the park and then, from there, you can make a connection with another bus (twice daily) that will drop you off directly outside one of the main entrances of the park, Laguna Amarga.
Travelling is more complicated from Buenos Aires (Ezeiza Airport) as there are no direct flights to Punta Arenas. You must first land in El Calafate and cross the border at Cerro Castillo, then go to Puerto Natales (approximately 350 km) or directly to Torres del Paine. From Calafate you can take a bus or rent a car to reach your destination.
If you are near Torres del Paine, whether on the Chilean or Argentinian side of the border, you can do trips by car, bus, cruise ship, catamaran and take advantage of various other possibilities that each city offers you; allowing you to familiarize yourself with the unique natural wonders of Patagonia.
Whether you want to get from Puerto Montt, Aysen, Chiloé, El Calafate or Ushuaia … you choose the route! The best thing is to plan your trip in advance, especially if you want to visit various attractions within Patagonia.
