If you are traveling independently in Chile or as part of a cruise ship journey, then you might consider joining one of our nature or birding day outings. These are short excursions with a duration of 8 to 12 hours, are led by a naturalist/birding guide and take in mind most of which the area can offer you in terms of wildlife and scenery.

From Santiago, Chile

If you are in Santiago or Valparaíso we can offer you a trip to discover the central coast of Chile, where we can see delightful birds such as Humboldt Penguins, Inca Terns or the stunning Many-colored Rush-Tyrant, or you might to consider going to the Andes near Santiago. Among the magnificent mountain backdrop we will see birds such as Andean Condors to the tiny White-sided Hillstar, but the highlight will be to locate one of the world's most beautiful waders, the Diademed Sandpiper-Plover.

From the Lake District capital, Puerto Montt, we will visit Vicente Perez Rosales National Park and its lush temperate forests. We will inspect the fast-flowing rivers here looking for a true icon of the Andes, the Torrent Duck.

From Punta Arenas, Chile

Deep in Patagonia, from our base in Punta Arenas, we will take you to see the Condors and Penguins at Otway Sound, or if you prefer we can bird the windswept steppes, trying to see its collection of waders and rare passerines.

Dates & Prices

Day Trips - Duration: 8-10 hours. Available on request from September through April.

Main Trip:Day Trip.
Group Size:Trips are guaranteed to depart with a minimum of 2 participants. Maximum group size of 6 participants.

 

RATES:
The above price is per person in US$, based on double occupancy.

The trip price includes:
Private transportation, guide services, snack, a bottle of mineral water and park entrance fees.

The trip price excludes:
Tipping, travel insurance, à la carte dishes, drinks, and anything else of a purely personal nature.



TOUR REGISTRATION: To register for this tour, complete the FANTASTICO SUR registration form and return it (by fax or email) with a deposit of US$ 700 per person. Full payment of the tour fee is due 90 days prior to tour departure.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Notice of cancellation can only be accepted IN WRITING from the person who signed the booking form and takes effect on the day such noticed is received by us.
Refunds are made according to the following schedule:
If cancellation is made 120 days or more before departure date, the deposit less US$ 300 / £ 155 is refundable. If cancellation is made between 120 and 90 days before departure, the deposit is not refundable, but any payments covering the balance of the fee will be refunded. If cancellation is made fewer than 90 days before departure date, no refund is available. This policy and fee schedule also applies to pre-trip and post trip extensions, as well as any transfers from one tour to another. We strongly recommend the purchase of trip cancellation insurance to protect yourself.
